About us

Hi! I’m Cel — a PhD student in chemistry, travel addict, and firm believer that a rich life isn’t about how much you spend, but how deeply you live it. Alongside my partner Nico, I created The Element of Elsewhere, your go-to guide for living richly without spending a fortune.

We believe that adventure doesn’t have to come with a luxury price tag. Whether it’s hopping across continents, uncovering hidden gems in your own city, or finding joy in everyday moments, our mission is simple: to help you live fully and travel smart.

As a grad student, money isn’t exactly abundant — but that’s never stopped me from chasing the feeling of elsewhere. Whether it’s a new city, a quiet trail, an affordable date night, or a spontaneous overnight trip, travel is how I reconnect with the world, reset my perspective, and have fun.

The name The Element of Elsewhere is a nod to my love of science and my deep belief that exploration — of places, ideas, and ourselves — is essential. It's my reminder that curiosity doesn’t end at the edge of a Petri dish or research paper; it’s out there, waiting in the wide world too.

Here, you'll find real-life travel guides, money-saving tips, honest itineraries, and inspiration to embrace life’s richness — all while keeping your wallet intact. We’re not about cutting corners — we’re about finding value, meaning, and magic in the experiences that matter. This is a space to share our adventures, insights, and the many ways we find magic in motion — all while sticking  making it affordable and not emptying your pockets.

Traveling on a budget isn’t just a necessity — it’s a mindset. It teaches creativity, gratitude, and how to find joy in the small, unexpected moments. This blog is for anyone who wants to live fully, explore widely, and do it all without breaking the bank.

I extend to you the warmest of welcomes to The Element of Elsewhere.

Let’s wander wisely.

Warmly,

Cel
